EVENT: Next Webcast: IBM Lotus Notes and Domino 8.5 Upgrade Process on 5/4 at 3pm Eastern

WorkFlow Studios discusses the IBM Lotus Notes and Domino 8.5 Upgrade Process

Through the years, the Notes Domino upgrade process has been straightforward. There has been no need for "rip and replace" and in many cases, the install package wrote over the existing installation, making upgrades pretty simple. Many new features have been released in the last couple of years. Some of those features cannot be turned on without some restructuring of the server architecture and the extensive use of profiles. Many of our customers have taken this opportunity, as they upgrade to ND8.5, to ensure that their collaboration infrastructure is running efficiently and that it utilizes the great new features, such as DAOS, ID Vault, compression, port encryption and more.

As WorkFlow Studios has been engaged with our customers, we have developed systems and processes that have helped those customers reduce their upgrade time and costs significantly. Our methods have been used in small environments as well as large, complex infrastructures. We invite you to attend this webcast as we present information about our efficient processes that can help you and save you money as you move to the exciting new releases of Notes and Domino.

This webcast follows our successful webcasts about Lotus Mobility options including BlackBerry and Lotus Traveler, and application development for the iPhone. If you would like more information on those topics, please contact sales.

Happy Holidays from CollaborationGirl!

Happy Holidays!

In the days ahead, we all share a commonality of holiday celebration
We show it and express it in many way
it may be the birth of a great man or the passing of a season,
it could be the fall of understanding and the rise of hope,
the strengthening of family and community.

In the passing of another year, and the promise of the new
may all your hope and wishes come true
remember the the hard of the past, and learn to let it go
take the great from the year before and pass it forward
listen to those who have already been there, and mentor those who need to know
always remember to hold the ones dear, close to you
and relish in their love for you.

Regardless of the holiday that we honor,
it is a time to take pause, in our busy lives
to take a look at the world around us,
and rejoice in all that is pure of home and family

I would like to wish you and your family a wonderful holiday season.
May Peace and many blessings flourish with the abundance of love during your
celebrations and throughout the New Year!

To all of you, be safe, be happy and most of all…. say “I love you” often if you mean it!  You never know what is next.

President Obama honors IBM’s Blue Gene with National Medal of Technology and Innovation

  1. Promotion of Technology. The impact of the contribution on the economy, environment or social well-being of the U.S. judged by:
    • Demonstrated, successful accomplishment. The contribution results in a competitive advantage in domestic and/or foreign markets, provides economically feasible environmental protection, or improves health care or safety.
    • Technological merit.
    • Role of nominee. Considerations include risk-taking, vision, persistence, management skills, and entrepreneurial or organizational skills.
  2. Promotion of Technological Manpower. Contributions to the promotion of technological manpower are weighed on the basis of:
    • Improvements in the resulting quality of technological manpower.
    • Alleviation of manpower shortages.
    • Motivation and improved performance of available manpower.

All of IBM’s key business lines – hardware, software and services, and the researchers who conceived and invented Blue Gene – along with IBMers everywhere, can share in this honor and recognition.
