The VIEW Magazine and a free article on Green and DAOS

Posted by hollikonig on February 16, 2009

When was the last time you reviewed The View?  They are the same ones that conduct the Admin and Lotus Developer conferences.  The view has been around for EVER and consistantly produced high quality, deep dive, technical articles on topics that provided value in managing and developing in my Lotus environment.

They use to send them to me for distribution at all of the User Group meetings for free.  Now that we have gone mostly virtual..  I wanted to give them a good plug here and share with you that their most recent free article is a great one on Maximize the Green Benefits of Domino Attachment and Object Service (DAOS) for Notes and Domino 8.5

Profiles helps you quickly find the people you need by searching across your organization using keywords to identify expertise, current projects, and responsibilities. You can find people based on things like the person’s name, their organization, location, reporting structure and interests. Profiles let you tap into the knowledge capital within your organization, and makes it easy to establish new business contacts. Profiles help you expand your personal network and Profiles help you develop and maintain personal relationships that span obstacles like reporting structure, department, geography, etc. Profiles typically include a person’s photo, reporting structure, name, pronunciation, the time zone the person works in, and information about the individual’s expertise and areas of interest.

Happy Birthday to Erik!!

Posted by hollikonig on January 26, 2009

One of very own was imortilized at the closing Session for Lotusphere 2009.   The poor man could not get from one end of the Dolphin to the other without being stopped and chatted with, photos taken, sung to, even the hotel staff was wishing him happy birthday!  Then later that night at Kimono’s the whole bar sang to him inbetween songs (yes I started it…could not let him get away without it!) at least 10 times with people pointing their arms at him and singing… Erik smiled so hard, I thought his head was going to split in half like the Southpark characters!

Lots of fun Erik…. one I hope you will never forget!
